Flexible honing brush for fine honing of cast iron, cast steel and cylinders with a nickel-silicon carbide coating (colloquially known as Nikasil). The honing brush (Flex-Hon) is clamped in the hand drill and the typical honing pattern is created by the manual back and forth movement. This restructures the surface and the honing marks provide the necessary oil adhesion. Fine honing is particularly useful when installing new piston rings or a new piston. Before use, the brush should be treated with conventional 2-stroke oil to counteract wear.
