For Puch 1-speed E50 engines, two of these are required. First, this retaining ring (commonly known as a Seeger ring or Seeger-Orbis ring) is mounted on the gear wheel to serve as a stop for the pinion-side ball bearing. On the other hand, the retaining ring is also mounted on the crankshaft at the clutch-side ball bearing.
On the 2-speed automatic ZA50 engine, this Seeger ring is required to secure the clutch assembly to the crankshaft.
