Air filter for your Sachs moped with original or tuning setup
The task of the air filter on your moped is initially to prevent dust and dirt particles from entering the engine, where they could cause damage. However, the filter, or rather its design, can also have a significant influence on the performance of your moped. Equipping your Sachs moped with a sports air filter, for example, can slightly improve acceleration and top speed. Of course, you should not expect miracles from this measure alone. Mushroom air filters and other racing air filters only achieve their full effect with an appropriate carburettor, a high-performance cylinder racing set and a suitable moped intake manifold, which ensure that a larger amount of fresh gas actually reaches the engine.
Fitting a racing air filter, mushroom air filter or original air filter to your Sachs 503 moped
Fitting a new air filter to your Sachs 503 moped is comparatively easy. The filter is usually attached to your Sachs moped with just one clamp, so that it can be replaced without long screwing and with little effort. If you are not using an original air filter but want to tune your Sachs moped, you should definitely tune your carburettor accordingly for maximum effect and possibly also replace the intake manifold if you are using a carburettor with a larger diameter.
